Once part of the proud Grand Banks fleet that fished the abundant but turbulent North Atlantic, the Sherman Zwicker traded cod and salt throughout the Americas. Today, she is an exceptional and rare surviving example of traditional boat-building skills and also the largest wooden vessel in New York City. Now used as a floating seasonal restaurant known as Grand Banks, be sure to visit her at Pier 25 on your next visit to Hudson River Park. You can board and tour for free – without ordering a thing.

Grand Banks is a docked restaurant providing a seasonal menu built around “sustainable, wild-caught fish species and seasonal local produce, with a focus on refining dishes to their simplest and most dynamic forms.” During COVID-19 you can reserve a table for takeout cocktails, wine and beer alongside a menu of Grand Banks favorites in our waterside seating area, or order for delivery or to go… you know you want that lobster roll.
