Blues BBQ Festival Preview: What to Eat This Saturday

Our 19th Annual Blues BBQ Festival is THIS Saturday, August 18, 2018 on Pier 97, and you don’t want to miss our incredible lineup of Blues greats from across the US and around the world. As anyone who has been to #HRPK’s biggest summer event can tell you, nothing goes better with soulful Blues than smoky BBQ; and we’re giving you a sneak peek at all the deliciousness headed your way this Saturday!

Two BBQ lovers enjoy the ribs at Blues BBQ in Hudson River Park

Brother Jimmy’s BBQ

For more than 25 years, Brother Jimmy’s has been serving up North Carolina-style, slow-smoking barbeque, and at Blues BBQ you can do as their slogan suggests and “Put Some South in Yo’ Mouth.” They’ll be serving up pulled chicken and Carolina-style pulled pork sandwiches as well as ribs and corn on the cob.

Dinosaur Bar-B-Que

A repeat Blues BBQ hit that blends traditional Southern barbeque with other flavorful influences, Dinosaur Bar-B-Que has been serving up BBQ since 1998 with a focus on fresh, high quality ingredients. Stop by their grill on Saturday and taste Dinosaur’s nationally acclaimed barbeque for yourself! Pick up a whole rack, a half rack or a pulled pork sandwich, and don’t skimp on the sides: tomato and cucumber salad and BBQ pork and beans.

Mighty Quinn’s

Mighty Quinn’s is an NYC classic, and a Blues BBQ favorite. Cooking up barbeque with wood, thyme and the perfect blend of spice and salt, Mighty Quinn’s infuses new life and flavor into traditional barbeque favorites. On the menu at Pier 97? All natural slow smoked BBQ chicken, pulled pork and brisket sandwiches with cucumbers and chiles—plus pulled pork nachos and smoked jackfruit!

Pig Beach

The team behind Brooklyn-based Pig Beach are BBQ innovators bringing influences from around the world—including Italy, France, the Middle East and Asia—into all-American BBQ classics. Their chefs aim to bring BBQ culture to the next level, and we’re bringing them right to your west side backyard. On Saturday, they’ll be serving up their take on pulled pork and brisket sandwiches, plus purple coleslaw and rice krispy treats!

Wash down all that delicious food with ice cold Sixpoint beers, water, soda, lemonade or tea—or sip some single malt Glenfiddich whiskey. Be sure save room for refreshing cold sweets from Ben & Jerry’s and Melt Bakery ice cream sandwiches.

The lineup of pitmasters at this year’s Blues BBQ Festival is only matched by the lineup of show-stopping Blues artists, so come hungry and ready to move to the music. We’ll see you this Saturday at 2:00 PM on Pier 97!
