Heavily Damaged Playground Gets Second Life Thanks to Outpouring of Community Support

You're invited! For the first time since Superstorm Sandy, the Pier 25 Children’s Playground located at North Moore Street in Tribeca will reopen to the public. On Saturday, May 11th at 11:00 am, officials from the Hudson River Park Trust and Friends of Hudson River Park will cut the ribbon and open the beloved playground once again. Having sustained $450,000 in extensive damage from the storm, the playground underwent months of construction to get it ready for the summer season. The Friends of Hudson River Park led the campaign for repair efforts, which were made possible in large part with support from community residents, who pitched in more than $300,000 for the restoration.
