Enjoying Thanksgiving in Your Park

November 22

We hope your Thanksgiving is full of delicious food and quality time with family and friends. The forecast predicts cool, bright days, and for those headed to the Park, there are many ways to savor this holiday weekend with your loved ones.

Admire autumn foliage.

Late November may be upon us, but there are still many vibrant colors on display throughout our four miles. Grab a warm drink and walk along the esplanade as you take in the colorful show – our Chelsea trees are especially stunning right now.

Enjoy some friendly competition.

Play family doubles on our tennis courts, get a pickup game going with friends on our basketball courts, or start up some flag football on our turf fields – all fun, competitive ways to work off some of that stuffing.

Spend quality time with your best four-legged friend.

Show your pups some Thanksgiving appreciation with a little extra playtime at their favorite dog run. They’ll love romping around the Pier 84 Dog Park, climbing the Chelsea Waterside Dog Park hills, yapping with friends at the Leroy Street Dog Park, or chasing pups their own size at the Tribeca Dog Park.

Compost your leftovers.

Save up those cooking scraps and don’t let your extra bounty go to waste. With seven compost drop-offs all along our riverfront, your Park is the place to bring your Thanksgiving leftovers and help our sustainability efforts.

To all of our Park community – we wish you a Happy Turkey Day, and a wonderful holiday weekend!
