City Nature Challenge: Scavenger Hunt

Hudson River Park’s River Project invites you to celebrate the City Nature Challenge! This citywide event helps to observe and catalogue NYC wildlife and plants. You can join in using the free iNaturalist app and contribute to a network of community scientists. Simply take pictures of wildlife that you see and then upload using iNaturalist.

Any observation you make will also be automatically logged in our ongoing Biodiversity in Hudson River Park project. Here you can see every observation ever made in the Park using the platform. This effort helps us to track information about the presence and location of organisms throughout the Park. With your help, we can learn more about how over 450 species of plants and animals utilize the Park grounds as habitat!
