Whether you’re brand new to kayaking or training for a river adventure, Pier 84 offers a full range of paddle programs on the Hudson. Run by Manhattan Kayak Co., this partner boathouse provides kayaking and stand-up paddleboarding experiences for all skill levels, from quick rentals to expert-level classes and guided trips.
Founded in 1995, Manhattan Kayak has introduced thousands of New Yorkers to the water and helped others take their skills further—like completing the 30-mile Manhattan Circumnavigation. As NYC’s longest-operating full-service paddling school, they combine outdoor fitness, exploration, and waterfront community.
Rentals run 45 minutes and include a quick demo. Lessons and adventures are bookable online, and equipment is always provided. Programs run Tuesday through Sunday from May through October. Indoor bike racks, lockers, changing rooms, and a rinse station are available on-site.
