Celebrate all things jazz with music by local legends on Wednesdays in Hudson River Park!

A spirited tribute to NYC’s storied jazz history, this Park-favorite series features local legends in a lineup of free performances on Manhattan’s riverfront. Combining smooth tunes with beautiful Hudson River Park evenings, these shows are unlike any other in Manhattan. 

About the Artist

A trombone pioneer, Dick Griffin has led a career spanning over 50 years, during which he has performed with some of the biggest names in Jazz and Soul–among them Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Ella Fitzgerald, Tito Puente, Art Blakey, Charles Mingus, Dizzy Gillespie, McCoy Tyner, Jimmy Heath, Lionel Hampton, Abdullah Ibrahim, Marvin Gaye, Michael Jackson, Isaac Hayes, Dionne Warwick and Sun Ra–as well as appeared with several symphony orchestras. An accomplished painter as well as composer / arranger, he has been honored by the NEA, BMI and others, and has released six albums as a leader.
