Douglas B. Heitner is the Chief Legal Officer at Safehold. Previously, he was a partner in Kasowitz’s Real Estate – Transactional Practice Group. He has experience representing clients in a wide range of real estate matters, such as joint ventures, financings, investment sales and acquisitions, secondary market debt acquisitions/dispositions, developments, leasing, loan workouts, public/private projects and real estate related litigation matters.
Mr. Heitner has been named a “Rising Star” by Law360 two years in a row in the real estate practice area, making him the youngest of six attorneys selected in the real estate practice area and one of only 112 attorneys nationwide selected for inclusion in the prestigious listing. He is highlighted in the 2014 edition of The Legal 500 in the “Real Estate and Construction: Real Estate” practice area and is recognized as a “Rising Star” in New York Metro Super Lawyers 2013-2014.
