Jean Kogut

Senior Director of Finance and Operations

Jean joined Friends in April 2019, after a long career in finance, which included senior roles at Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and Citi in New York and London. She was most recently a Managing Director at Citi and had leadership roles in Credit Research and Client Management during her eight years there.

Upon leaving Citi in 2015, Jean helped launch London-based online sustainable lifestyle company Rêve En Vert (“dream in green”), where she was an early investor and acting CFO for two years. She also served as a consultant for small businesses in real estate, online retail and hospitality until early 2019.

Jean’s role at Friends spans finance, operations, human resources and technology. Before joining Friends, Jean was an active supporter of the Park, and the opportunity arose for her to share her financial expertise with the group on a full-time basis. Her nonprofit experience over the years includes Treasurer of the Make-A-Wish International Board, which spanned 50 countries. She currently serves as Treasurer of the Friends of Bogardus Plaza Board, which is developing a public park space in Tribeca, and serves on the board of the Delaware Valley Arts Alliance in Narrowsburg, NY.

Jean holds a B.A. in Economics from The College of William and Mary and an M.B.A. in Finance from The University of Maryland.

Originally from Pittsburgh, PA, Jean has lived in NYC (with three stints in London) since 2000. Jean lives with her partner Jay and her two English bulldogs, Winnie and Tilda. They split their time between New York City and the Catskills.
