Our Community Compost Program invites local residents to participate in simple, yet effective actions to support sustainability. Deposit your food scraps in the brown bins between 7:00 AM and 7:00 PM.

WHAT CAN I COMPOST?

Be sure to follow these guidelines when bringing your compost to our drop-off sites. Thank you for building a more sustainable future for Hudson River Park and New York City!

  • Teabags
  • Rice, pasta, bread, and cereal
  • Egg and nut shells
  • Dried and cut flowers
  • Meat, fish, and bones
  • Cheese and dairy products
  • Fats, grease, and oils
  • Plastic, metal, glass, or foil
  • Produce stickers
  • Teabag staples
  • Bags of any kind
