Hudson River Park’s beloved Broadway by the Boardwalk is back, transforming the stunning Clinton Cove into Broadway’s riverfront Backyard! Join us for unforgettable evenings of music, where the energy of the stage meets the serenity of the Hudson River. On Monday nights from July 7 through August 11 the waterfront comes alive with free, all-ages concerts bringing unforgettable performances featuring Broadway legends to the Park!
Kicking off the season is Broadway’s Original Dreamgirl, Jennifer Holiday! This Tony® and Grammy® Award-winning icon will be making her boardwalk debut on Monday, July 7! Holliday is known for her powerhouse, soul-stirring vocals and originating the unforgettable role of Effie “Melody” White in Dreamgirls, and we can’t think of a more fitting way to raise the curtain on the 2025 series.
Throughout the season, audiences can expect show-stopping performances from beloved Broadway veterans including Max von Essen (Ann American in Paris) with Billy Stritch (renowned pianist and singer), Zachary Noah Piser (Redwood), and John Lloyd Young, the Tony Award-winning star of Jersey Boys. Each artist brings their own style and story to the series, creating a dynamic season of performances. Each performance offers a new flavor of talent set on the scenic backdrop of the Hudson River.
Adding even more sparkle to this year’s roster is rising star Jasmine Amy Rogers, the dynamic leading lady of Boop! The Musical. Her presence brings fresh energy and a glimpse of Broadway’s bright future to the boardwalk stage.
Broadway by the Boardwalk will also celebrate the 25th anniversary of the critically-acclaimed musical Rent with a special performance by Anthony Rapp and Adam Pascal from the original Broadway cast. Their return to the stage together — right here in Hudson River Park — is sure to be one of the highlights of the summer.
Whether you’re a lifelong theater lover or new to the world of Broadway, Broadway by the Boardwalk offers an extraordinary, accessible way to connect with the music and performers that make New York City the cultural capital of the world. Gather your friends, bring a blanket and enjoy the best of Broadway under the open sky all for free!.
