Big City Fishing

HRPK's River Project

Drop a line during this free catch & release fishing program all summer long.

More than 200 species of fish are found in the Hudson River and its tributaries, with over 85 species in HRPK’s Estuarine Sanctuary waters. This summer, join us on Piers 26 and 51 to make a fish wish — you might just get a bite.

Anglers ages 5 and up are invited to participate at this program, with parental supervision required. Our River Project team provides all the necessary equipment and an on-site fishing tutorial. Registration not required, participation is offered on a first-come, first-served basis. Beginners and experts alike are encouraged to join Big City Fishing for a relaxing and educational experience at the water’s edge.

Our 25th Anniversary event season is presented by Hudson River Park Friends, the Park’s designated fundraising partner. HRPK Friends is an independent, nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to the completion, care and enhancement of the Park.

Hudson River Park is not part of NYC Parks, and we rely on private funds for our free programs, maintenance and operations. That means your donations are essential to ensuring our event season remains free for the public. Show your support today.
