Join us on the waterfront as the Seneca Chief stops in Hudson River Park on its voyage from Buffalo to New York City.
The 73-foot replica of the original Erie Canal Boat is undertaking this 500-mile voyage in celebration of the 200th Anniversary of the Erie Canal.
This statewide journey honors and reflects on the canal’s legacy from multiple perspectives, including its impact on Indigenous peoples and the environment and highlights the enduring role New York’s waterways play in connecting communities across the state.
On Sunday, October 26, visit Pier 26 to try your hand at woodworking with the Buffalo Maritime Center, make a wood-burned bookmark, and explore handcrafted boatbuilding traditions. You’ll also have the opportunity to meet local marine life at our River Project Touch Tank and discover how today’s Park connects people with our vital waterways.
