Join the Ladies of Hip Hop Dance Collaborative & Friends for an evening celebrating the legacy and evolution of Black American dance.
From the Lindy Hop, jazz and tap, to Hip-Hop, House and beyond, this evening traces the thread connecting these movement traditions across generations to honor the innovation, resistance and cultural brilliance of Black American dance.
On June 19, 1865, enslaved Black Americans in Texas were emancipated and given their freedom—now celebrated as Juneteenth. This meaningful occasion honors the bravery and determination of Black Americans, reminding us of their remarkable journey and allows us to reflect on this important moment, including the history of slavery and the ongoing fight for equality.
