Apply for a Run Club event permit to host an event in Hudson River Park with a maximum of 250 participants.
Run Clubs are recurring group fitness activities where participants walk jog or run on the Park’s esplanade. Arrival begins at the start of the permit, and if the run begins in the Park, gathering in place can happen for no more than 30 minutes before launching the run.

Here are key rules associated with this permit:
- Organizers must be present for the duration of the event, have a copy of the permit and be easily identifiable to Park staff with t-shirts or lanyards.
- Groups cannot block the Esplanade, Park paths, driveways, crosswalks or access to Piers.
- No on-site commercial activity, including marketing activations or sponsorship presence.
- No vending or sales of any kind.
- No tents, tables, signs or chairs.
- No large speakers, megaphones or audio equipment. One (1) small hand-held Bluetooth speaker is acceptable.
- No tripods, lights, or large photo/video equipment; small handheld cameras are allowed.
- Any group identified riding a bike on Park paths or using a drone without a permit will have their permit immediately revoked.
Group Running Rules
- Runs must launch within 30 minutes of permit start time.
- Participants must respect other Park users and run no more than two abreast.
- Groups with more than 100 participants must be divided into heats of no more than 50 runners, with a minimum interval of 5 minutes between each heat.
- Group stretches, warm-ups or similar activities cannot happen on turf fields, courts of any type, and may not block pathways or access for other park users at any time.
- Groups cannot travel along the following pathways:
- From the North side of Gansevoort Peninsula through Pier 62 (i.e. in front of Little Island, Pier 57, Chelsea Piers)
- North of Pier 84 to Pier 94 (i.e. in front of the Intrepid and the Manhattan Cruise Terminal)
- Please note: Use of the New York State Route 9A Bikeway is not authorized or covered by this permit.
