A defining feature of Hudson River Park is its four custom-built boathouse, which together host New York City’s widest variety and boating programs and activities:  kayaking, outboard canoeing, stand-up paddleboard, sailing and even kayak polo. Each boathouse has a different operator and atmosphere, and each is worth visiting. Be sure to check each boathouse website for current hours.

At the north end of Hudson River Park, visit the Pier 96 Boathouse where you can jump into a kayak or a canoe and paddle out to view Clinton Cove from the River!

Free kayaking lessons are available on a first-come, first-served basis thanks to volunteers at the Manhattan Community Boathouse. Adults are able to paddle on their own, or children under 16 can paddle in a tandem kayak!

New York Outrigger offers free and low-cost outrigger canoe and stand up paddleboard programming, run by volunteers from May through September.
