Pier 66 Maritime is a privately-owned former car float (railroad barge) that is now used for access to the historic vessels Lightship FRYING PAN and JOHN J. HARVEY. The seasonal bar and grill is open for lunch, dinner and drinks. For rainy weather, an enclosed area is available to keep you dry while you enjoy your burgers and beer.

Visit the historic Baltimore & Ohio Railroad Float Transfer Bridge, directly east of the railroad barge. Until the early 1970s, railroad cars used to float into Manhattan by barge, then link up with railroad tracks at the waterfront, and finally to warehouses located nearby. Before the advent of refrigeration, livestock was transported into Manhattan, then herded to the nearby Meat Market.
