Why I’m running for team HRPK:
Running for Team HRPK lets me give back to the park that has been my sanctuary over the last five years. I’ve spent countless miles running, walking, biking, and skating through Hudson River Park, and I’ve seen it become more beautiful, welcoming, and fun with each passing year. It’s been amazing to see how much it’s grown, and I’m excited to support its future.

My favorite part of the Park to run through is:
Little Island. I first saw a model of the planned construction at the Guggenheim and thought it was just wild concept art. Even now, every time I see a picture of it I’m convinced it’s an AI-generated image. I can’t get over the fact that it actually exists and how spectacular it looks in real life. Honestly, don’t tell anyone, but the real reason I started running longer distances was just so I could see it every day.

What running means to me:
I’m still processing that “athletes like you” bit. I’ve never considered myself to be athletic in any way, yet here I am, about to run a half marathon.

Hudson River Park is a  special place for NYC athletes because…
Hudson River Park is special because it offers something for everyone, from seasoned pros to people like me. It’s a space where athletes of all levels and abilities can find their own way to be active.

If I could say one thing to Hudson River Park supporters, it would be…

Thank you! And if I could say two things, it would be Thank You again!

My quirky running habit is…
I wave to every dog that I pass by. I’ve also waved to raccoons and the occasional cat being walked on a leash. They never wave back, but that’s OK.

Three words that describe my running are…
Focused. Joyful. Awkward.
