Hudson River Park Friends’ Business Council was established to bring businesses on the West Side of Manhattan together to enhance economic growth, strengthen community and connect businesses of all sizes with engaged audiences through meaningful activations and offerings.

The Hudson River Park (HRPK) Friends Business Council provides opportunities for corporate engagement, volunteer work, community service and sustainable visibility for businesses playing a critical role in economic and social growth in Manhattan, especially those entities closest to Hudson River Park.

Composting and More: Highlights from our June 26 Meeting and Cocktail Event, Hosted by Suzanne Kennedy at IAC Headquarters

Business Council members and guests came together for a summer informational and networking session. In a beautiful IAC conference room high above Hudson River Park. Tobin Kent, Sr. Manager at Friends and David Loewenguth, Sr. Horticulturist at HRPK gave a presentation on the Park’s Community Compost program, detailing history, process and production value for the group. A lively discussion followed, addressing questions around residential and commercial composting.

After the meeting, BC members and guests, enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres and cocktails, while chatting and networking with each other. Check out photos from the event.

Learning about Sustainable and Resilient Building Practices at our first Business Council Speaker Series on January 24

The Business Council Speaker Series kickoff was held at Related’s HQ in Hudson Yards on January 24, 2024. Sid Dinsay and Related hosted the breakfast in a beautiful conference area overlooking Hudson River Park.

The event was moderated by John Ambrosini of RXR, an accomplished expert in many fields including property management and energy and environmental compliance, and he even serenaded the group with a few bars of New York State of Mind. Speakers Lisa Hickerson of Turner Construction, Mike Daschle of Brookfield Properties and Kevin Quinn of Hudson River Park Trust gave captivating and thought-provoking presentations on sustainable and resilient building practices.

Explore recent news about the Park and urban green spaces

Thank you to Business Council Members Kimberly Williams of ConEd, Kate Wood of BlackStone and Dale LaPlace of Command Collective who joined us on May 21, 2024 for a tour of Gansevoort Peninsula to learn about this new Park space, including its salt marsh habitat, the 20 million oysters HRPK added to the Hudson River, Manhattan’s only sandy shoreline beach and more. Highlights from recent Business Council Volunteer Days

BlackRock and Match Group got their hands dirty in April; Turner, Related and Pfizer joined us in May; and Citi and L’Oreal lent a hand in the Park in June.
