Max Size: 45 cm (1.5 ft)

Habitat: Coastal waters to the continental shelf, from Massachusetts to the Carolinas

Diet: Invertebrates, crabs, clams and snails

 

 

 

 

 

Fun Facts:

  • Scups have been known to live up to 20 years
  • The Scup can often be found swimming in schools. Most of the fish within a school are normally only 3 to 4 years of age
  • When stressed, Scups show black stripes
