CANCELED – Sunset on the Hudson Tin Pan Alley Presents a Night on the Pier

The sounds of summer brought right to Hudson River Park — our free Sunset on the Hudson series passes the mic to established and emerging NYC-based artists across a wide range of genres.

Tin Pan Alley on West 28th Street between Broadway and 6th Avenue was the birthplace of American popular music at the turn of the 20th century. To a great extent, it was defined and driven by the achievements of African-American and Jewish immigrant songwriters, publishers and performers who paved the way for what would become “The Great American Songbook.” Along this one block, composers introduced novel musical forms, such as ragtime and early jazz, blues and show tunes, became publishers of their own compositions and brought that music to life through unforgettable performances.

There’s no better way to kick off the weekend than with an evening of spectacular live music and signature HRPK sunsets right on our West Village riverfront. Among the many exciting events offered this season, Sunset on the Hudson is surely one you won’t want to miss. From brass to choral, bass to alto and so much more, there is something special for everyone.
