Throughout June and beyond, we’re highlighting ways to celebrate Pride in Hudson River Park and honor the LGBTQIA+ history of our waterfront and surrounding neighborhoods.
From community gatherings and celebrations to public art and local history, explore some of the ways to celebrate, reflect and learn in the Park this Pride Month.
Youth Pride Fest
We’re partnering with Hetrick-Martin Institute, a local leader in supporting LGBTQIA+ youth with resources and care, for Youth Pride Fest at Pier 84, a daylong waterfront celebration. Join us Saturday, June 6 at 2:00 PM for music, dancing, games, food, a health fair, a vogue ball and more along the waterfront.
Pride Sunday in Hudson River Park
The Park’s West Village esplanades, along with Piers 45 and 46, have long been a place of gathering on Pride Sunday, with thousands coming together to celebrate Pride.
For everyone’s safety, to manage crowding conditions, please expect closures in the area, including on both sides of Route 9A. As a reminder, Park rules are in effect regarding glass containers and open flames, including BBQs and grills, which can quickly create dangerous conditions, particularly on crowded days. View the full list of Park rules. Available amenities will include porta-sans and water fountains.
Explore LGBTQIA+ Art and History Along the Waterfront
Hudson River Park’s Greenwich Village waterfront is home to public art and monuments that celebrate NYC’s LGBTQIA+ community and honor its history.
This walking route, with an available audio guide, starts at Christopher Street near the Park’s historic Pier 45 and heads north along the esplanade to experience public artworks, memorials and gathering spaces connected to LGBTQIA+ history and activism along Manhattan’s west side waterfront.
