On Friday, January 25, the Hudson River Park Friends Playground Committee welcomed more than 300 Park supporters at the Fourth Annual Playground Committee Luncheon. The sold-out event raised nearly $250,000 to support all that HRPK offers families and children—including playgrounds, sports fields, environmental education and children’s programs.

Dubbed “the chicest mom’s day out” by Vogue, this year’s Luncheon and silent auction proved just as inspiring as it was stylish. Remarks by 2019 Playground Champion, Nell Diamond; Keynote Speaker, Jenna Bush Hager; and Guest Speaker Jenny Mollen Biggs celebrated the many ways Hudson River Park nurtures our growing west side community—and how this beautiful communal backyard has impacted their families.

Also featured in People, Town & Country, EOnline, Page Six and ETOnline, the Luncheon was attended by Stacey Bendet, Barbara Pierce Bush, Sheinelle Jones, Jordan Foster, Charlotte Groeneveld, Rebecca Hessel Cohen, Rachelle Hruska MacPhearson, Prabal Gurung, April Larken, Ally Love, Hoda Kotb, Jodie Snyder Morel, Diana Taylor, Aimie Wang, Melissa Wood Health and more notable Park supporters.

In the words of Jenny Mollen Biggs, “The Park is the great equalizer for New York City. It doesn’t matter where you go to school, what your parents do, who they know, where you live, it’s just a place where kids can go to actually be kids.”
The support and awareness raised by our Fourth Annual Playground Committee Luncheon will help ensure that HRPK continues to provide a beautiful, active backyard where children and families can play, grow and thrive.
