Back 2 School Workshop: Plankton 101

Get your notebooks ready—it’s time to go “back to school” with Hudson River Park’s River Project during engaging science workshops for adults.

During this special three-course series designed for ages 16 and up, you’ll dive into fascinating marine science topics that you’ve always wanted to learn more about. Join us for hands-on workshops where you can monitor oysters, check out a plankton sample under the microscope, meet local wildlife and more.

Each workshop is in a unique Hudson River Park setting, including the Pier 40 Wetlab and the Pier 57 Discovery Tank, which will serve as the inspiration for your exploration into local science. Check out our course catalog below and enroll today!

About This Course

Small in size, but large in impact, these microscopic drifters support life in the Hudson River ecosystem. During this interactive workshop, you’ll have the opportunity to collect and observe a sample of River water and identify live plankton.

This course will take place in the Pier 57 Discovery Tank.
