Bike Skills 101 is a free group class for kids ages five and up who are ready to let go of their training wheels and ride a two-wheeler for the first time!
This two-hour class will be taught by an experienced instructor and teach kids how to balance, pedal, start, stop and steer a bicycle. Most attendees will graduate to no training wheels in one session, but even if they don’t, parents will leave equipped with an easy, low-stress technique that will have their kids riding in no time.
Links to register for Bike Skills classes will be posted 7–10 days in advance of each class; check Bike New York’s registration page for links to register and please note that spaces are limited.
Bike Skills 101 is presented in partnership with Bike New York, an organization that empowers New Yorkers to transform their lives and their communities through bicycling by increasing ridership, empowering youth to lead healthy and productive lives, removing barriers to cycling and advocating for and expanding services to reach more New Yorkers.
