Your west side backyard is holiday-ready—bundle up and see for yourself! On December 6, we lit trees with solar powered bulbs in Tribeca, Greenwich Village, Chelsea and Hell’s Kitchen. You can catch these bright beauties all holiday season—and why not make an adventure of it?

For each of our glittering evergreens, we’ve found a perfect and family-friendly #HRPK pairing that’s sure to add some fresh air to your holiday cheer. Even better—try them all!

Get Cozy in Tribeca: Nestled north of the Tribeca Dog Park, our southernmost Christmas tree may just be our most Instagram-able, with the towering One World Trade and lower Manhattan skyline as its backdrop. Admire the lights, snap some photos, then enjoy a warm drink (or meal!) on City Vineyard’s heated patio—we hear the hot cider is delicious.

Get Cultured in Greenwich Village: Our Village tree shines just north of HPRK’s Millennium Garden, home to Stephan Weiss’s “The Apple,” and we suggest making this nine-foot-tall, three-ton icon the starting point for a mini HRPK art tour. Head north along our esplanade, and you’ll find the elegant granite arc and poignant words of the AIDS Memorial.

From here, you’re just a short walk from the Park’s newest public artwork—Anthony Goicolea’s LGBT Monument. With prismatic elements that illuminate at nightfall, this piece may be at its most beautiful after dark.

Get Cheerful in Chelsea: You’ll find our Chelsea Christmas tree tucked alongside another 2018 HRPK addition—the new Chelsea Waterside Park Play Area. Visit with your family before the sun goes down to enjoy this imaginative, innovative play space and its beloved pipefish climbing structure. By the time the tree lights begin to glow, you’re sure to be all smiles! (Pro tip: If you’re headed to Chelsea during Christmas week, make sure to take a stroll along #HPRK’s Pier 62—the view of the Empire State Building’s holiday color scheme is unparalleled.)

Get Curious in Hell’s Kitchen: Our northernmost Christmas tree brings holiday cheer to HRPK’s Pier 84, and the contrast of greenery against the imposing Intrepid always sets up a striking photo. Pair a visit to our Hell’s Kitchen tree with the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum, and enjoy permanent and rotating exhibitions that explore naval history, space exploration, technology and more (we’re especially excited about “Defying Gravity”—their current mixed-reality experience that highlights women in space).

Warm drinks, artistic exploration, play-time adventures, world-class museums… your Park has something for everyone this holiday season. And with our festive evergreens shining alongside the city-sparkling Hudson River, you may just feel like you’re starring in your own Holiday classic (or Hallmark original—we don’t judge!). No doubt about it, a stroll along HRPK’s esplanade is an NYC holiday must.
