What makes star magnolias unique:

  • In the wild, this magnolia is found along streams and in moist woody areas.
  • Magnolia trees provide shelter and food for many different types of wildlife.
  • Transplanting a star magnolia can be difficult due to its fleshy root system.
  • The tree was introduced into cultivation in 1862.
