Why I’m cycling for team HRPK:
I’ve been living in NYC for 10+ years now and one of my favorite places in Hudson River Park. There’s an amazing community there and I’ve met so many wonderful people through volunteering for the Green Team that I want to ride for Team HRPK as well.

What’s your favorite part of the Park to run or ride through?
My favorite parts of the park to run/ride through are the piers. Each pier you go to there’s a different view of the city and the river and it really makes you appreciate how big the Hudson is.

How long have you been participating in your sport, and what does it mean to you?
I’ve been riding for my entire life. Biking is one of the most freeing things for me to do. Sometimes it becomes so organic that there’s no thinking and your mind is completely clear. It’s an incredibly peaceful thing to do. Although definitely have to watch for vehicular traffic in the city! Haha.

What makes Hudson River Park such a special place for NYC athletes like you?
It’s a place where everyone is accepted. You don’t necessarily have to be an athlete, you can even be starting on your fitness/mental health journey. You’ll see everyone from children to the elderly participating in athletic activities in the Park and there are so many!

If you could say one thing to Hudson River Park supporters, what would it be?
The Park is a community, and it’s not publicly funded so if you see an opportunity that you’re interested in participating in or somewhere to help, do it! There’s so much to learn and so many ecosystems within the Park that everyone can find something they’re interested in.

What is your quirky running, cycling or athletic habit? Do you participate in any funny or unusual athletic rituals?
On certain days I’ll listen to one song on repeat while riding.
